In factories all over the world workers produce objects for us and our homes. We surround ourselves with products made by anonymous people. We wish to put faces on these craftsmen and tell their stories. Next time you enjoy a cup of fair trade coffee it should be in a cup made by someone you know.
If every designer did this we might be able to change some of the conditions for production. The responsibility is ours and now is the time to do it. Traveling has never been this easy and communication doesn’t cost anything. Everything is made somewhere by someone for somebody.
TING means 'object' in Scandinavian and 'listen' or 'listen up' in Chinese. We believe materialism is the language of our time - one that everybody understands. The urge to own something lies deep in our system.
